You need to decipher the message on the TV screen first.

There is a hint in the bottom right hand corner of the TV screen.

The +8 in the bottom right hand corner of the TV screen gives you the key to decoding the cipher. It has been shifted by 8, the CD cipher wheel will be usefull here. If you have the message, use it with the Ceefax page.

Decoding the message give "chess minus music". Looking on the Cefax page, chess is 568 and music is 530. Taking these away from each other gives thirty eight.





Computer

There is a clue at the bottom of the Sweets article in The Before Times. The solitare game will tell you the answer.

The playing cards in the game are the key.

Each card in the game of solitaire tells you a letter to spell out the name of the sweets.

The first card is the ace of spades so take the first letter of the word spade (s). The second is the ace of hearts so take the first letter of the word heart (h). The third is the two of hearts so take the second letter of the word heart (e). Collecting all the letters in this way gives the word "Sherbet". As directed to at the bottom of the sweet article, take the price for sherbet which is 49 pence.

Look carefully at the magazine cover.

The phrase "how to achieve tiny twists in reverse" holds a vital clue.

Focus on the light blue box, bottom right.

The phrase reffered to in clue 2 suggests something in reverse. Looking at the name NEVES YTROF and reversing it gives forty seven.

There is a clue to the order of the letters picked out on each disk.

The dates on the disk give the order, pick out all the letters the same colour as the disk.

Picking out the letters as described in the hints (and adding punctution) gives "I am an odd number. Take away a letter and I become even. What number am I?" The answer is seven.

Where there is a dot, take that letter. Where there is an arrow, take the letter it points towards. This gives twenty nine.

Once you unjumble each song, pick the word and letter out.

The first song "she wants all that" unscrambled is "all that she wants". 2.4 tells us to go to the second word and take the fourth letter (t). Doing this for each song gives twenty.
